What ClassicGamer said is correct.
By the way...
I realized something last night while I was playing. This game (Final Fantasy II) for the PSP is NOT what I had expected it to be! This is NOT, I repeat NOT a remake of Final Fantasy II (US) that was released for the Super NES. This game is actually a remake for Final Fantasy II, which was released for the Famicom.
I tried to over-look the differences because of the remake but it got to the point where I thought to myself... "This is NOT the Final Fantasy II that I played for the SNES!" What really gave this away was the leveling system for the characters. In this game, the characters do not have experience points, nor do they have levels. The characters basically get advanced with different levels of statistics.
So, I apologize for adding any confusion for anyone who read my previous post where I stated that Final Fantasy II (PSP) was the remake for Final Fantasy II (SNES). This is a game that I have never played before, not even a translated version of the Japanese title. I am honored to be playing this game.
So far, I like it and I am having fun playing it. It's definitely different if you are used to playing the classic US versions of Final Fantasy.
What's confusing about this is that Final Fantasy (PSP) is in fact a remade version of the original Final Fantasy for the NES...strage in my opinion...

Right. This is to avoid confusion now. Most FF fans know the story, and can follow. It just leaves Newer fans of FF games in the dust.
By the way NN, what do you think of the leveling system, and I can't wait until you meet Cid.

By the way NN, what do you think of the leveling system, and I can't wait until you meet Cid. I do like the leveling system. It's different and a change from the other Final Fantasy titles released in the US. Did you play the translated version of this game? And Cid...it's not the same Cid from Final Fantasy II (SNES) is it?

I wonder if the glitch that was in the famicom version is in that one?

@tails: If you are referring to Experience Points, there are none. Classic Gamer Nerd: I'm not quite sure I want to know about this glitch...yet anyway. Is it a good glitch or a bad glitch though?
