I just played this game for the first time today on my friend's Wii. I like it a lot, it's a great game for it's time, but I did have one problem with it. There is no map.
Now, after creating this thread, it came to my realization that LoZ didn't have a map either, and that didn't bother me. Although, I did have a paper map that I think came with the game, so that was helpful.
So, upon this discover, I retract my claim with the problem. I will have to play further into this game before I decide if having no map is a problem. I mean, at first, I realized there were a lot of directions I could take, but I guess after dying so much I'd eventually figure out where everything was. So until my further gaming, I leave this topic to the rest of you.

A good classic. Couldn't stand up to the next one, Super Metroid, though. There must of been a lot of complaints at the time, since Super Metroid had the map smack dab in your face.

I am actually confused about this topic. Grooms: Are you referring to the NES Metroid game, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for the Wii, or the Metroid Virtual Console game?

NES Metroid. You don't have a map. But I guess it would be the same as Metroid on the VC.
