This is another awesome retro rpg. It's right up there with Final Fantasy/Dragon warrior to me.

It's more D&D like too. The graphics are cool. There a lot of Ultima games for the NES.

I liked the whole system of becoming an avatar. You had to be a good person and sometimes it wasn't easy. A blind shopkeeper that can be easily tricked into taking less money? Awesome! Oops there goes my Honor(I think it was that one).
I wish they let you choose the evil side though. Would've been a great reason to replay the game. All in all this is the best Ultima game I've played.

I played around with it a bit. I like that you can choose from a number of different classes for your main character. Of the ones I tried, I like Paladin the best. However, I absolutely hate the moongate system.

However, I absolutely hate the moongate system. Yeah the Paladin is the best class really. It's a little overpowered in my opinion. But it does seem like the class they wanted most people to play. If you don't start as a Pld then you'll at least want her on your team. What didn't you like about the moongate system? It's been awhile for me so I forget the details. Btw if anyone wants a challenge try playing this game as the shepherd. Not only is it the weakest class it starts on a small island with no townspeople(they're all NPC monsters who won't attack). The only way I know to get off the island is to wait for a passing pirate ship and take it over. That's kinda hard when you have no magic, a staff and a robe.
