This thread will be used for research purposes. Supposedly, there were two versions of Final Fantasy II released in the United States. If anyone here has any information about this, we would like to know. I will also be contacting Square-Enix to inquire about this if I cannot find anything on the internet. Although Sqare-Enix was not the producing company at the time (Square, Squaresoft was) someone there is bound to know something about this. For more information about why this thread was even created, please see the following thread: nnforum.proboards51.com/index.cgi?board=finalfantasyii&action=display&thread=2259

There wasn't 2 released here in the beginning. Theree were 2 copies of FF IV in japan an easy type and hard type, the easy type made it here as FF II for the SNES, the hard type later released as FF IV Advance, or FF Collections for playstation

Let me correct myself, since this was in the day before the rating system, so they wanted to take out anything questionable. That's why a lot of the commands are gone, they wanted to take any reference to prayer out.
Wikipedia can explain better.
On the translation of FF4 Tellah calls Gilbert (Edward) a (not so nice term meaning illegimate) instead of spoony bard.
