On the moon, make sure Cecil is equipped with the Crystal sword.
Run in to D. Fossil in the core. Attack D.Fossil with Cecil incorprating 9999 damage. Use Ice-1 with Rydia to do 1 point of damage and thus will perish D. Fossil
lol 1 pt killing D. Fossil

How is that possible if the D. Fossil has 12,000 Hit Points?

ClassicGamer, I still disagree that the D. Fossil in Final Fantasy II (US) has 10,000 Hit Points. I had to look this up online to check. From the 3 different sources I found that stats at, every one of them said 12,000 Hit Points. Could you show me where you saw this...or even record a video clip of this? I could be wrong, but I still think the D. Fossil has 12,000 Hit Points

Ah I see the problem.
I'm talking about the first cartridge that came here. They made 2 versions of Final Fantasy IV (the easy one made it here as Final Fantasy 2) That one had enemies having less hp, not as many items, (only a Heal potion, the hard type of FF IV in japan had seperate potions depending on your status aliment. Very confusing) That is another reason why the easy type made it here. I guess we just wanted a heal potion and that was it. But there were 2 different versions of FF IV in Japan, the easy type made it here as FF II (us)
When emulation became popular there was the original FF 2 here (easytype), and FF IV Hard type, which was basically the same game just with many changes. Even more confusing lol.
I haven't done it lately.

I'll make a new thread about the different Final Fantasy II versions that were released for the SNES. I'll make the thread so we can research that subject further.
Getting back to things that are fun to do...
I like mowing down huge groups of enemies with one of the more powerful call spells such as Bahamut or a strong Black Magic Spell. It's just nice watching all the enemies fade away at the same time.

For some reason when I played this years ago we decided to level up the party before the big battle at Yangs castle. I forget how high we got it but we were easily 20 levels over where we should've been. Pretty sure after the battle our levels were reduced to what the game wanted us to be on.

Blaze & Meteo sure are kick butt. So is Bahamut. I sometimes summon Leviathan, & cast Quake & Holy as well. Good times.
