A warning for those who use emulators: September 19, 2007 – Washington, DC – The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) today applauded the sentence imposed on a California game pirate by the Honorable Timothy R. Walsh of the San Diego Superior Court. Frederick Brown, of Vista, CA, received a sentence of one year, with the first 90 days thereof to be served in prison and the balance to be served in work furlough, followed by five years of probation, for his involvement in game piracy activities.Full article can be found here

Grooms, that is an interesting article but it doesn't mention nor make reference to Mr. Brown (suspect) using emulation programs. This man was convicted for selling and trading counterfeit software titles, not playing an emulator...lol As far as I know, there is no law against using a program like an emulator to play a game so long as you own the game and have no intention of reproducing the title to make profit. Does anyone else have any opinion or insight about this article?
