After plugging my SNES back in and turning on Super Mario World to see that level beat itself (without realizing it was a custom level) I had a craving to play through the entire game.
So that's what I did all day yesterday. And I noticed that my game's save state said I only have 94% but I am completely positive that I beat every level and unlocked every secret.
Has anyone ever gotten 100%?

Wow...it's been a while since I have played through this and yes, I believe I have achieved a 100%. There has to be just one or two levels that you need to complete. OOOHHH wait, I think I know what happened here. Some of the ghost mansions have more than one exit so you might want to try those again. Although you might have beat every level, if you haven't beat the levels that have more than one exit you won't get the 100%
Hope this helps...

You can only get up to 96. I am pretty sure I achieved a 100% before.

well on the super nes cartridge, you can only reach 96, its not a number of goals, but a number of stages in the game. There are 98 stages (2 of which are bowser and dont count toward the stage numbers you get on your screen.)

very good grooms. What gave you the hardest time in this? Nothing really. After trying all the ghost house exits, I realized there are no pointless exits. Everywhere exit unlocks a path when it comes to ghost houses (I'm pretty sure). So then I realized I never exited the star road levels. I only ever did the keyholes.

I always found getting the secret exit in the cheese bridge area as the trickiest

ive 100% it before but it said 99.. Are you sure? I thought we had established that *96 was the best anyone could do. I thought we already established this as well. It's not a percentage (as I initially though as well), but the number of exits a player has achieved to find. So...there are a total of 96 exit points in the game, which is all 100% percent of them...hence the star.
